Today was a funny day. The weather channel predicted rain in London all week so naturally I packed my galoshes and umbrella. The forecast rang in true yesterday when I conveniently forgot to wear my boots AND to take out my umbrella. But today when I did both - pure sunshine! So there I was, wearing rain boots all day, totally looking like an idiot. Grrr...mother nature you typical woman you!
My spirit was completed again by the warm, crispy yet totally melt-in-your-mouth return of the World's Best French Toast -- the hotel hired a new chef but the recipe thank God remains tres magnifique...at least one thing is going right!
Preparing my body for the calorie overload of the delectable breakfast, I woke up at 6 and went to the gym...only to realize about a 1/2 mile in that my eyes were beginning to droop and if it weren't for the involuntary motion of running that my body has now (mashAllah se!!!) become accustomed to..I would have totally fallen asleep on the treadmill. I wonder if that's ever happened to anyone else...I was actually struggling to stay awake while exercising...am I just wierd? "i before e except after c"..yes ok, its "wierd" not "weird"...I begin spelling thing wrong when I'm over here in GB so I was checking out loud.
Went out for a team dinner to the O2 Arena where Michael Jackson was going to start his tour but now they've converted the area to an exhibition instead. Didn't go to the exhibition but went to Rodizio Rico's with the team. After having been to fogo di Ciao and Chimas...I imagined a London Rodizio to be the best there is. Boy was I wrong. And it was my idea to have the team go - so boy did I feel embarassed. This place was like a Shoney's with the salad bar and the meat cuts weren't the typical US-restaurant favorites like "baby top sirloin" (my favorite) or Ribeye or NY Filet or Lamb Shank (meats are so important to me that I capitalise them in case you're wondering. See? I just did it - capitaliZe sorry.) All this place had was rump roast, skirt steak, beef shish kabobs, and chicken wings and chicken hearts (these meats should NOT be capitalized.) ugh..I feel so bad...must find a way to make this up to the team ASAP! My idea of an end of project celebration certainly wasn't the UK version of Golden Corral!
The food was so whack, I had to pick up a jalapeno chicken wrap from Pret a Manger on the way back. mmm...that's better. I wonder if I should wear my rain gear again tomorrow? What if its sunny mcsunshinerson again around here? Gah - what to do!? I'll sleep on it...early night for me again - trying to get in all the beauty sleep that I can...God knows I need it!
